TrackMySubs alternatives for small businesses and agencies
If you use TrackMySubs or are weighing it up, here is what it does well, where it stops, and six alternatives compared on data, alerts, people and price.
In this article
In short
- TrackMySubs is a simple subscription tracker with 160+ currencies, a free plan for 10 subscriptions and email alerts to several addresses, aimed at small businesses, agencies and MSPs.
- People look elsewhere because every subscription is entered by hand or by CSV, there is no bank connection, Slack and SMS need Zapier, and multiple users start at $30 a month as of November 2026.
- Subly, which wrote this post, reads statements and tracks money coming in too; CostLoop scans statement CSVs and inboxes; SubTracker suits households; Wallos is self-hosted; Cledara is for larger finance and IT teams from £75 a month.
- To switch, export a CSV from your current tool if it can, check the columns, import it, then upload one bank statement to catch anything the old list missed.
TrackMySubs is a straightforward way to keep a list of business subscriptions and get an email before each one renews. If that is all you need, it does the job. The reasons to look at an alternative are specific: you want subscriptions to arrive without typing them, you want alerts in Slack without setting up Zapier, you want more than one person in the account without the top plan, or you want to see money coming in as well as going out.
Below is a fair look at what TrackMySubs does well, where it stops, and six alternatives with who each one is for, how it differs and what it costs as of November 2026. A table and a short switching guide follow.
What does TrackMySubs do well?
It keeps things simple: add a subscription with its amount and renewal date, and it appears on a calendar of upcoming payments. Its strengths:
- Currencies. It lists over 160 currencies, crypto included, and converts each subscription to your preferred currency at a daily rate.
- A free plan. The Starter plan is free for up to 10 subscriptions, with no credit card required.
- Email alerts to several people. It sends email alerts before a payment and can send them to multiple addresses, so a bookkeeper and a founder can both hear about a renewal.
- A business focus. It is built for digital entrepreneurs, IT consultants and small businesses, including agencies, web design and hosting firms, and IT MSPs with several clients.
As of November 2026, paid plans are Unlimited at $10 a month or $99.99 a year, and Enterprise at $30 a month or $299.99 a year. If you want a short manual list with email alerts and no bank access, TrackMySubs is a sensible choice, and you may not need to switch.
Why do people look for a TrackMySubs alternative?
Its own site is clear about the limits:
- Everything is entered by hand or by CSV. Nothing is found for you.
- No bank connection. Its FAQ explains that the team isn't comfortable sharing their own bank accounts with strangers. Fair enough, but a charge you forgot to add stays invisible.
- Slack and SMS only through Zapier. Built-in alerts are by email.
- Multiple users only on Enterprise. As of November 2026, adding colleagues means the $30 a month plan.
- Only money going out. It is positioned as expense management, and its site doesn't mention tracking income such as client retainers.
Its homepage lists QuickBooks and Xero integrations as "coming soon." We couldn't confirm whether they have shipped, so ask TrackMySubs if you need them.
Subly: for small businesses that want data in without typing
Who it's for: founders, freelancers, agencies and small teams that pay for software and services and may also get paid on retainers or subscriptions.
What's different from TrackMySubs: you don't have to build the list by hand. Upload a bank or card statement (PDF or CSV, no bank login needed) and Subly finds the recurring charges. Or forward receipts to your own Subly address, connect a bank in the US, Canada or Europe through Plaid (read-only), or import a spreadsheet. It tracks money coming in as well: client retainers, payouts and, on Business and Team, recurring revenue imported from Stripe. Alerts go by email on every plan; push, Discord, Telegram and Microsoft Teams from Personal; and a Slack app with Keep, Plan to cancel and Snooze buttons from Business, with no Zapier needed. It covers 150+ currencies; TrackMySubs lists 160+.
Price as of November 2026: Free for up to 20 items with email alerts and one statement read. Personal is $5 a month or $48 a year with 3 people. Business is $19 a month or $190 a year with 10 people and a 13-week cash forecast. Team is $49 a month or $490 a year with 20 people. New accounts start with a 14-day Business trial, no credit card. See pricing for the full list.
If you get paid on retainers, the guide to tracking recurring revenue and client retainers shows why both sides belong on one list.
CostLoop: for cost tracking with inbox scanning
Who it's for: freelancers, startups and small operations teams. It is a young product; AppSumo lists the company as founded in May 2026.
What's different from TrackMySubs: you can upload a bank or card CSV and it detects recurring charges, still with no bank connection. A Chrome extension scans Gmail and Outlook with read-only access to find subscriptions. Paid plans add unused-seat and duplicate-tool detection. Alerts are email renewal reminders, with webhooks on Business. It tracks costs only, not income.
Price as of November 2026: a free plan with manual entry, capped at a few subscriptions (the pricing page says 5; check the current limit). Pro is $9 a month or $90 a year for one user, with unlimited subscriptions, inbox detection and CSV import and export. Business is $39 a month or $390 a year and adds a REST API, webhooks, workspaces and team visibility.
SubTracker: for households
Who it's for: consumers and families.
What's different from TrackMySubs: it never links to your bank either, but it has a quick-add library of 180+ services so typing is faster. It syncs renewals to Google, Apple or Outlook calendars. Email and in-app alerts, including price-hike alerts, start on the paid Plus plan. It lists USD, EUR, GBP, CHF and 20+ more currencies, fewer than TrackMySubs' 160+.
Price as of November 2026: a free plan. Plus is $5.90 a month or $49 a year. Family is $9.90 a month or $79 a year with up to 10 workspace members and role-based access. A $129 one-time lifetime plan is also offered. New users get 14 days of Plus, no card required.
Wallos: for people who self-host
Who it's for: individuals and households who want their data on their own server.
What's different from TrackMySubs: it is open source (GPL-3.0) and you run it yourself. Entry is manual. Notifications are broader than TrackMySubs out of the box: email, Discord, Pushover, Telegram, Gotify and webhooks. It supports household members and standard users alongside an admin, OIDC sign-in, multiple currencies through the Fixer API (which needs a free API key), an API and optional AI recommendations. There is no vendor support.
Price: no price; hosting is your own cost. A demo is available at demo.wallosapp.com.
Cledara: for larger teams managing software spend
Who it's for: finance, procurement, IT and operations teams in companies where software spend needs approvals and policy.
What's different from TrackMySubs: it is a SaaS management platform rather than a tracker. Data comes in through free virtual cards, Xero and QuickBooks (from Basic) and automatic invoice capture (from Premium). It raises renewal alerts (duplicate-tool and price-increase alerts come with a paid add-on), and adds approval workflows, spend limits, budgets and onboarding and offboarding. Sign-up asks for company verification documents.
Price as of November 2026: Basic is £75 a month or £750 a year for up to 20 apps. Premium is £200 a month or £2,000 a year for up to 75 apps. Pro starts at £500 a month. No free plan or trial is stated.
A spreadsheet: for a short list and full control
Who it's for: anyone with a handful of subscriptions who is happy to keep them up to date by hand.
What's different from TrackMySubs: it is free and as flexible as you make it, and formulas can total monthly and annual cost. You lose built-in renewal reminders, currency conversion is a formula you maintain, and price rises go unnoticed until someone checks a statement. The subscription tracker spreadsheet template gives you the columns and formulas to start.
Price: free, or included in software you already pay for.

How do I switch from TrackMySubs?
Here is the order that avoids losing anything:
- Export a CSV, if your current tool can export one. Look in its settings or reports for an export option. If there is none, copy the list into a spreadsheet by hand; it is a one-time job.
- Check the columns. Make sure each row has the name, amount, currency, billing cycle and next renewal date. Fix blank or odd rows now.
- Import it. In Subly, the spreadsheet import reads CSV and Excel files, so you can bring the cleaned file straight in. CostLoop's paid plans import CSV as well; for the other tools, check their import options before you start.
- Assign owners and alerts. Decide who hears about each renewal and where: email, chat or Slack.
Keep your TrackMySubs account until the new list matches and your first renewal alert has arrived. Then cancel the old plan before its next billing date.
Questions people ask
Is there a free alternative to TrackMySubs?
Yes. Subly, CostLoop and SubTracker all have free plans, Wallos is open source and free to run on your own server, and a spreadsheet costs nothing. Free plans differ in what they include, so check alerts and limits before you move.
Which TrackMySubs alternative connects to a bank?
Of the tools here, Subly connects to banks in the US, Canada and Europe through Plaid, read-only. CostLoop and Subly can also read a statement file you upload, so you can skip the bank login entirely.
Which alternative works for a team without paying for an enterprise plan?
As of November 2026, Subly includes 3 people on Personal at $5 a month and 10 on Business at $19 a month. SubTracker's Family plan has up to 10 members at $9.90 a month, though it is built for households rather than businesses.
Can I move my subscriptions out of TrackMySubs without retyping them?
If your current tool can export a CSV, you can import it into a tool that takes CSV, such as Subly, which reads CSV and Excel files. Check that names, amounts, billing cycles and next renewal dates come through before you delete anything.
